Can't believe THIS has been labelled as "intolerant".
I don't really share many of the views here on liberal democracy, but this amounts to a very useful summary of how the UK's anti-trans movement has worked in the past decade, and how it works towards authoritarian & reactionary outcomes.
This legislation is most going to affect us in terms of the cultural climate, in emboldening institutions and bad actors itching for an excuse to justify their litigious urges and bigotry. But we still have friends, family, allies, advocates, and each other. Put that in your fucking paper.
Juliet Jacques on Labour's Section 28: "Civil disobedience and trans organisation will flush this contemptible code down the toilet of history, and we can push for a full inquiry into how the EHRC became captured by transphobic fanatics and ask how we can safeguard such bodies [...] in future."
