One of my favourite recent developments in Dublin. I was heartbroken to see beautiful mature trees in Rathmines being cut down. But then a few weeks later, these appeared. It takes somebody, maybe just one person, with both the imagination and the follow-through to make sth like this happen.

I do think a lot of English-based analysis of what happened in Northern Ireland last night is missing the specifically loyalist aspect of the violence. These are groups with a long history of violently driving out "outsiders", turning their sights on a new vulnerable minority.
