Associate Professor for Government @univie.ac.at, works on political representation & behavior, public opinion, populism & the EU - usual disclaimers
Christopher Wratil 🇺🇦 #StandWithUkraine
One of the most intriguing papers I read during the last years 👇
📣 New paper out in BJPolS 📣
Jede 5. #uni-super-gau www.kleinezeitung.at/artikel/2496...
New paper in Nature. The more a government controls its domestic media, the more it dominates AI training data, the more pro-regime outputs we get from AI. By scraping the open web, LLMs are unwittingly laundering state-coordinated narratives into seemingly objective answers.

Human in the loop sounds great but is probably as transitional and perhaps as delusional as speed limits on early locomotives, so they would not outpace pedestrians or horses. 🐎

Exactly this. The best time for radical institutional reform was yesterday. The second best time is now. There might not be a third for a long time.
This is a bad survey question. It’s very difficult for people to distinguish recent changes in “flow” (eg. inflation or net migration) from historical changes in “stock” (eg. cost of living or number of migrants). www.theguardian.com/world/2026/m...
