Iām a climate scientist. Let me fix this headline.
āNearly a century ago, scientists showed that burning fossil fuels warms the planet.
Today, we know human emissions account for over 100% of the warming.
Yet dark money and disinformation still work to keep Americans addicted to fossil fuels.ā

My second publication from my PhD looking at using a molecular diagnostic method (which I developed for my first paper found here: doi.org/10.1111/afe....) to look for the main parasitoid of the oak processionary, an invasive pest of oak trees, to help inform conservation biocontrol strategies!
Had the opportunity to test the new FIT Count quick guide I helped write for @pomscheme.bsky.social with some brilliant volunteers from @tcvnational.bsky.social and West Dumbartonshire Council. Perfect weather for counting pollinators!

New projections of British biodiversity under plausible climate & land-use futures
Severe futures have 12-20% birds, butterflies, plants going extinct & major changes to ecosystems
More sustainable scenarios only decrease & do not stop loss; but require urgent action
