A huge American flag that flew into transmission lines during a storm knocked out power to thousands of customers in two separate disruptions over the weekend that also affected travel in parts of Connecticut.
The flag flew into transmission lines on Saturday night, affecting 5,000 customers. In a separate episode on Sunday, 40,000 customers lost power, according to Eversource Energy.
