While there's still plenty of more work to do, the public EV charging network is improving dramatically, which could help boost the experience for new and used EV drivers alike.
The U.S. charging network is in the midst of a massive transformation that will leave EV owners and future drivers far better off.
In total, the network now sits at around 244,000 connectors - across Level 2 and DC Fast Charging (DCFC) as of March 2026.
I cover this progress and more in a new blog post for the Zero Emission Transportation Association (ZETA). You can check it out at our website: www.zeta.org/insights/fro...
Harry will be sharing some key findings from a recently published report entitled: "Electrotech Moneyball: An Industrial Strategy for Ranking Risk and Opportunity in Energy & AI Supply Chains."
Of the latter, around 75% of the DCFC connectors have been added in just the past five years, reaching around 70,000 in 1Q 2026.
The network has grown more expansive, more reliable, and more effective - in just a short period of time.
Great piece by @heatmap.news's @andrewmoseman.bsky.social as the curtain rises on Rivian's R2 era... simply titled: "Rivian Did It."

According to @iea.org's new Global EV Outlook 2026, "Global electric car sales are expected to grow to 23 million in 2026, representing 28% of total car sales."
Check out their full report, which has big implications for autos globally and in the U.S. 👇

We've been getting into a lot of great areas of the EV and battery industry with Zero Emission Transportation Association's 'Over-The-Air Update' webinar series. Our next iteration will be taking place on Tuesday, June 16th at 2 PM EST.
This time we are going to tackle a really interesting and important topic that merits industry focus: electric vehicles and cybersecurity. I'll be sitting down with @harrykrejsa.bsky.social, Director of Studies at the Carnegie Mellon Institute for Strategy & Technology, to discuss the topic.
