Sickens me that Iran plays a World Cup match and then literally is kicked out of the country a few hours later. Honestly given all that this team is up against I’m so proud of them for those two beautiful goals. Team Melli forever.

One of the strangest atmospheres I’ve encountered at a game. Iran start World Cup with a 2-2 draw with New Zealand with Iranians both wildly supporting the team but also a significant minority who came to cheer on their opponents. At least it’s out the way. Iran now have to leave US by 11pm.
