Inflation is going the wrong way- and its all Trump inflicted. www.cnn.com/2026/06/10/e...
Annual inflation rose to a three-year-high of 4.2% in May, underscoring how elevated energy prices are rippling through the US economy, according to new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
AT&T Mobility wireless workers just ratified a strong new contract covering 9,000 people across 36 states — and a 95% strike authorization vote is a big reason why the bargaining committee had the leverage it needed. On this episode of America's Work Force Union Podcast, CWA District 4 Administrative Director Frank Mathews discusses the contract win, the CWA Worker Power Agenda built directly from responses by more than 9,000 union members and the legislative conference that sent thousands of CWA members to Capitol Hill with 17 bills and the knowledge to discuss every one of them. He also previews the double overtime legislation unveiled at the conference by Congressman Greg Casar and explains why the No Tax Breaks for Outsourcing Act and the Raise the Wage Act are long overdue. Women Building the Future of Union Construction The ULA Network was proud to attend the 2026 Equity Leadership Awards Luncheon honoring the incredible work of Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW) and the women who are breaking barriers throughout the unionized construction industry. We had the opportunity to speak with Cassandra McCarthy, a Tile Apprentice with BAC Local 7 NY/NJ and proud graduate of NEW. Cassandra shared how the trades have provided her with opportunity, stability, lifelong friendships, and a pathway to a rewarding career. Her advice to women considering a career in the skilled trades: "Just go for it. What may seem intimidating today could become one of the best decisions of your life." Cassandra recently helped complete work on the 39th floor of the Hard Rock Casino's Celebrity Tower in Atlantic City, showcasing the craftsmanship, dedication, and pride that union tradeswomen bring to every project. Stories like Cassandra's remind us that apprenticeship programs, mentorship, and organizations like NEW are creating pathways for the next generation of skilled trades professionals while strengthening our workforce and communities. The ULA Network remains committed to supporting, educating, and promoting career opportunities in the unionized construction trades and celebrating the women who are helping build our future. #WomenInTheTrades #UnionStrong #BACLocal7 #NEW #BuildingTrades #Apprenticeship #SkilledTrades #UnionLabor #Tradeswomen #ULANetwork #SupportEducatePromote
Labor Radio talks to a St. Mary's nurse as the NLRB sets June 11th as the date for a union representation election to join SEIU Wisconsin, organized labor sponsors a forum for candidates for Governor of Wisconsin ahead of the primaries, Cargill is closing its Milwaukee facility and laying off over 220 workers, Labor Radio speaks to the both the outgoing and incoming presidents at IBEW Local 2304, and there is an update on donation numbers for the National Association of Letter Carriers food drive. THIS IS A WORT PLEDGE WEEK EDITION.
What exactly is LOSA, and who is that pilot sitting in your jumpseat? In this episode of Engage, host First Officer Ryan Argenta sits down with Casey Songster, 737 First Officer and Vice Chair of the SMS Subcommittee within the Central Air Safety Committee (CASC), to break down the Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA) program. Casey explains how LOSA fits into Delta’s Safety Management System (SMS), what LOSA observers are actually looking for, and why the program is designed to identify operational risks—not evaluate individual pilots. The conversation covers confidentiality, de-identification, observer selection, pilot participation, and how LOSA data helps both ALPA and the Company better understand threats, error chains, and opportunities for risk mitigation across the operation. If you’ve ever wondered who that person in your jumpseat is, what happens to the information collected during a LOSA observation, or how pilots contribute to safety programs behind the scenes, this episode is for you.
