- that hindered my ability to Really play with values. but this now makes my ref colours (4th) come off as highlights and way too bright... should i adjust those to be less neon looking?

some practice from over about a month or two. i was making it a point to get out of my color palette comfort zone i think a problem i was having with rendering before was that my midtones were so bright, that it didn't really leave room for anything much brighter or deeper. so a lack of contrast -

i CANNOT let myself feel guilty about making personal things between commissions bc its the only way i can keep my enjoyment of art up besides, the more experimenting and learning i do, the better your piece eventually comes out. yay!
