As discussions continue at the #JuneClimateMeetings on aligning finance with climate goals, #ISDS remains the elephant in the room 🦣.
If we want a truly just transition away from fossil fuels, we can’t ignore a system that penalizes governments for acting in the public interest.
Time to bring #ISDS out of the shadows at the #VeredasDialogues and the upcoming Climate and Trade Dialogue.
It shouldn’t remain an obscure acronym that polluters hide behind; it should become an artifact of the past.

🤑 Every dollar spent fighting or paying ISDS claims is a dollar not spent on much-needed #ClimateAction, environmental and social protection, or a just transition away from #FossilFuels.
😅 The irony? Instead of polluters paying, governments can end up paying polluters.
™️ #ISDS allows foreign investors, often #FossilFuel and mining companies, to sue governments over policies that affect their profits 😱.
That includes environmental regulations, climate laws, or decisions to reject harmful projects.
