Judge Karen Brody wrote a detailed order about why she didn't believe the cops saw arm movements inside the defendant's car that they could reasonably deem threatening. The Supreme Court's opinion barely engaged with what she found. It basically said "yeah, arm movements can be scary."
I filed a FOIA request with the Justice Department for the names of all civil division attorneys who left the U.S. Attorney's Office for Colorado between January 2025 and now. The DOJ denied my request, saying it could involve an "unwarranted invasion of the personal privacy of the departed AUSAs."
Denver cops allegedly saw weird arm movements as they made a traffic stop. They searched the car and saw a gun/drugs.

A Pueblo County sheriff's deputy fatally shot an unarmed man at a school and other deputies seized his mother and her property. A trial judge denied them qualified immunity, so they argued their own version of the facts to the 10th Circuit. It didn't go well:
