Refusing climate action is costly and embarrassing π¬
The longer we resist to change, the more costly climate change impacts will be.

Great article. Amazing how the current government justifies take.
I think it will be more rewarding to take money where it is (from the rich) and distribute it more evenly, equitably. Also essential to pay for social services that is basic human rights like water, education, health, nature...

This article lists 10 fruit and veggies with less residues. Well, it means the others have a lot of pesticides residues. Not good for health but approved by rules and routinely practiced, as if it's ok. It's not.
Organic produce won't have residue nor homegrown ones.

A tree story as exciting as a sci-fi, and much more heartwarming.
The Wollemi pine is a treasure. I think there is one in Christchurch botanical garden.
90-million-year-old fossils and presumed long extinct, fewer than 100 wild Wollemi pines still exist in a grove share.google/WC5unsbeS4dO...

Data centres are coming to NZ, taking electricity that's allegedly not sufficient. I believe data centres should, by resource consent, produce all their energy.
And there are 5 more ways data centers endanger their local communities and the country as a whole share.google/4vZ9q43clEXe...
It's excellent although we don't need another review. WE KNOW.
It is entirely a choice and a political money-first preference to put chemicals in the ground to so-called improved productivity at the expense of the environment and people's health.
It will be another report forgotten in a drawer.
Should we consider trees as part of our critical infrastructure? I haven't listened yet but I answer a massive YES!
Please keep all trees that do exist in urban areas. Native or not, they all hold water, offer shade, climate regulation and well-being.

Comment: NZ's first Paris target was set by National's John Key, who always expected to send billions offshore to meet it.
In 1994, a New South Wales park ranger rappelled into a sandstone canyon 150 kilometres from Sydney and walked into a stand of conifers the fossil record had marked extinct for 90 million years. Fewer...
