I'm all for using ethical efficiency tools like macros, wildcards, and text expanders in developmental editing.
But the thinking, the craft, the expertise, the customized support—that's why writers hire human editors, not a plagiarism machine that spits out generic and frequently incorrect advice.

Same for editors. I just don't get why you'd want to offload the work of analyzing and suggesting ideas to writers as a dev editor. That's kinda the whole point of dev editing. If you don't enjoy that part of the process...don't dev edit?
