I have many, MANY feelings about this, but I cannot share them without people telling me I'm an out-of-touch elite who cannot possibly understand the complexity of (their imaginary straight, white, male) rural America.
While I'm at it, If I see another take that treats rural America as lily white when farm labor isn't nearly as white as farm ownership is, I'm going to have an aneurysm. Rural America is only lily white if you don't see farm workers as people.
