It’s also a management-peddled myth that you have to be / love your employment. It’s okay to work a job to pay bills and do what you love in your free time. Some of us are fortunate enough to combine our passions and work, but that’s a tiny %age.
I will say this much: there is zero shame in leaving the game industry. Be it because you're not finding your next role, or because you're tired of it and need a break. The industry doesn't deserve the people who work in it, and you owe it nothing.
