Please help me identify the critter in our air ducts while I ponder how I’ll sleep pending tomorrow’s visit from the animal removal pro.
Such excellent reporting on such a tragically cruel story.
I’m not sure how to describe the feeling of submitting the fully revised manuscript of my book to my editor, but here’s a picture of a rainbow around the sun. #amwriting

Reading Kristine Langley Mahler's new book of erasure essays, Teen Queen Training, feels at first like a game but soon becomes an excavation revealing pernicious messages that shape young womanhood. Here's my review for @coloradoreview.bsky.social. @suburbanprairie.bsky.social tinyurl.com/24xek3pr

Cliché & basic point, i know, but it's really fucked up how many people refuse to ask "but how will we pay for that" about war & jail shit. Like they fully & fundamentally accept & believe in endless money taps for killing & jailing & hurting other people, but not like… food or medicine or housing.

At 3rd Place Books, in my former home of Seattle. In this spot in 2015, I recognized a fellow browser and blurted, "Are you Ken Jennings?" 30 seconds later, thinking celeb gawking must feel dehumanizing, I said, "I'm Kim Kankiewicz." 10 yrs later I'm fangirling over @kenjennings.bsky.social again.

Really nuts how many men were like "Me Too went too far, and I need to email Jeffrey Epstein about it."

The memoir in essays, Woman House: Essays and Assemblages by Lauren Westerfield is, among other things, a book about secrets.
