A quick little comic I made about my process when posting about being open for work. It's typically how it goes. :/ 1/5

and it's fair to say those posts get little interaction compared to say, a drawing of baby godzilla I did on a whim. Honestly, commissions (more than covers, though covers are also spotty) hardly come my way, and typically that's okay, as I have my big sequential projects which keep me going. 2/5

& maybe try new tricks like making videos on instagram to promote myself or changing the times I post etc. which all typically changes nothing, but adds plenty of self doubt. At the end of the day I can appreciate the hustle & do enjoy working in comics, but dang does it get to you sometimes. 4/5

but it also gets scary when there's sometimes nothing for long stretches even with the support system I have, and so even when I have work I am always trying to make sure I have enough to last a year or two later. So that in turn makes me scramble to make new samples to beef up my portfolio 3/5

Maybe this is relatable, or informative too, but I guess for me, I just wanted to share my experience. 5/5
