This is the right answer!!! The surface for abuse in DMs with images is so high. Ask any margianlized person in your life what is like to get thousands of harassing messages filled w/ CSAM or violent images and they'll tell you they wish safety teams spent more time and thought on launching things

We know many of you want to send media in DMs and group chats. We couldn't include that in today's release, but we think it's a super valuable feature. We'll need to build new safety and moderation systems before we can add it.
