The problems with gigs:
1. Human crowds.
2. Getting home afterwards.
but mainly
3. Advance booking. Gigs rarely coincide with my concurrent obsession. So, if I'm bingeing avant-garde jazz, attending a rock gig is jarring; when listening to glitchy electronica, it's harder to appreciate a requiem.

It's still the case that my posts typically get way more interactions, therefore reach, on #Mastodon than #Bluesky, even though I have a similar number of followers on both. Wonder why that is. Does Bluesky use algorithms?
Just rewatched Lord of the Rings. I'd forgotten that Sauron's seeing-stone is called Palantir. So, democracy-sceptic, demon-believing Peter Thiel names his company (and models its logo?) after a device that allows an all-seeing evil eye to "broadcast propaganda" and control what people...
So, AI text detectors are about as reliable as AI text generators. I use emdashes and triads all the time. I'd be unfairly screwed if a prospective publisher ran my prose through Pangram or a similar tool.
Pangram: "Emily Dickinson? 100% AI... James Joyce? 100% AI"
...can and can't see in the service of malevolence... And the UK gov thought: "Yes, let's hire that company to look after our defence, policing, financial and health systems"?
