To address Halifax’s housing crisis, our members support a set of policies that remove barriers to development and ensure housing gets built for Haligonians in every income bracket.

Please take some time to fill out the centre plan survey.
Please fight back against this absolutely ridiculous way to frame building more homes in our country.

Please express your unconditional support for more housing (in particular, missing middle housing) in our city.
We can't sit idly by while our city continues to frame housing policy in this way.
On Monday, June 22nd, at 6pm at City Hall, the city will be debating if an 8 story, 30 unit dwelling should be allowed to be built in a housing crisis.
This micro-management of housing development continues to make the housing crisis worse. Please show up if you can. Thank you so much.

The city is considering putting limitations on developments like this because 20 people in the HRM complained about this development.
Less than 1% of our cities population can get the city to consider making necessary housing development illegal. Ridiculous. www.saltwire.com/nova-scotia/...

In response to NIMBY sentiment, Halifax planners are proposing to frustrate the development of missing-middle housing.
If you care about making Halifax more inclusive, please write your councillor. We don't need more arbitrary setback and design requirements. We need more housing.

This survey where Halifax asks residents to please put on their NIMBY hats and encourage the city to further restrict housing, increase all setbacks and allow more surface parking in the regional centre is infuriating. Some of my answers were in all caps.

This is a 5 minute walk from the region's largest University and 10-15 minute walk from two separate employment clusters.
It's adjacent to the city's bike network and is a 60 second walk from the city's highest frequency transit line.
Each bungalow goes for roughly half a million.

The entire survey is "show me on the doll where the new townhome five blocks over hurt you"
I think Halifax is about to walk back its HAF zoning changes.
Kate Macintosh’s grandparents built their house on Preston Street in 1929, the first of five bungalows constructed by the same developer.

Turns out “Missing Middle” housing hasn’t been missing.
We knew where it was the whole time.
We made it illegal.
Never forget, housing choice is a leadership challenge.
