As the years have passed, many of us have spread our wings – we’ve moved away, gotten married, and had kids. But we still make time for one another: to laugh, reminisce about old memories, and make new ones together.

“Looking back on my childhood, “home” was defined by a strong sense of community. I grew up in a small rural town and, because of that, was blessed with a large extended family and a close-knit group of friends. To this day, I maintain those connections.
This Immigrant Heritage Month, we’re celebrating the stories, memories, and communities that shape the people behind Ayuda’s work.
For Andrew Sanguillen, Ayuda’s Grant Writer, home has always been rooted in the people who have remained connected across time and distance.
Today Kate is committed to not only living her own dream, but also inspiring others to do the same. We're unbelievably lucky to have her as a neighbor.
