Nave, north elevation #StMaryLimpley #Wiltshire for #WindowsOnWednesday The nave windows are remarkably high set. These were added C17 and are typical of their era. Square set 2-light window with cavetto moulded segmental aches to the lights and label with no stops

North (left) and south elevations of the tiny #StMaryLimpley #Wiltshire chancel for #WindowsOnWednesday Wide, single cusped, pointed lights in Early English style although in reality probably C20. Small blocked square section single light #GhostWindow can be seen to the north
A lonely chest tomb in the corner of the churchyard, Mouse suspects unoccupied #StMaryLimpley #Wiltshire for #TombTuesday
From west #StMaryLimpley #Wiltshire for #TowerTuesday Cited as C15 but slit windows tell another story. Every #TinyWindow tells a story after all. C13 Mouse suspect. There is the faint suspicion of long and short work to the quoins... a tower of Saxon origin? #TinyWindowTuesday
East elevation of south aisle #StMaryLimpley #Wiltshire for #WindowsOnWednesday Square set 3-light window with cusped (mildly) pointed lights and square moulded label. Recorded as an original C15 window reset in the C20 aisle

Nave, south elevation #StMaryLimpley #Wiltshire for #WindowsOnWednesday The 1920's addition of the south aisle with its cat slide roof was very sensitively done even by today's heritage building standards. It was faithful to the original materials and preserved the C17 window

From north #StMaryLimpley #Wiltshire for #TowerTuesday Squat and yet delicate 3-stage tower with single string course, moulded parapet and small, decorated, recessed octagonal spire. Interesting pair of narrow square headed lights with pierced stone screens to bell stage
Medieval grave markers. These were always recumbent but are not in their original locations. Once deeply carved, 700 years or so have almost wiped their memories away #StMaryLimpley #Wiltshire
Mouse's last visit was sadly shut but it did offer one or two choice items, even from the outside: Chest tomb set in C18 splendour #StMaryClaverton #Somerset for #TombTuesday
Mouse's last visit was sadly shut but it did offer one or two choice items, even from the outside: Do the mortal remains of Mark Antony here reside? A little Rome, a little Egypt #StMaryClaverton #Somerset for #TombTuesday
