To all the kids who grew up needing a little help, a little push to be who we are.
I’m forever thankful to my mom for asking for the help she needed, for our community who listened to the call, and to a people who believe all of us are worth the investment.
We need Senators who believe it, too.

My single mom worked hard, but she couldn't afford it all without a little help.
Section 8 paid the rent, food stamps kept food in my belly, and Medicaid paid my hospital bills.
Now, I get to pay those investments in my family back and pay them forward through public service.
