even if libraries caused readers to buy fewer books* it would be worth it, in order to live in the kind of society that produces readers and books.

okay also the AG survey notes a decline in average author income. but print book sales are pretty similar to what they were in 2009. rather than wondering where those profits are going, if it's not to authors, they're choosing to blame........public libraries. curious!
