On this day: June 9, 1980. As part of the New Music America festival, Brian Eno’s music was played throughout Nicollet Mall’s sound system throughout the day.
Jon Bream’s recap of the festival, which took place over nine days and was sponsored by the Walker and the Minneapolis Star.
Eno’s “Music for Airports” was also played at MSP airport.
