Revolutionary British artist David Hockney dies aged 88
Yorkshire, indeed the world, has lost some of its colour today. Garrowby Hill, a Yorkshire landscape by David Hockney, 1998. So long, David.
Instead of raising a glass of what you fancy to a bigoted trillionaire shit who is damaging the world, raise it to a man who gave the world something good. RIP David Hockney. Enjoy David's work on his own website here: www.hockney.com/home

'Arrival of Spring in Woldgate, East Yorkshire in 2011'. If you're feeling down I think this David Hockney painting will work as a pick-me-up. Stunning. i.guim.co.uk/img/media/4c...
My favourite David Hockney painting - and the title amused me because my maternal grandparents were Mr and Mrs Clark, my Grandad's name was Percy and they loved cats. Percy is the white cat in the painting. www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks...
Australia 0 for 3 against Bangladesh earlier today. First time the Aussie men's cricket team has ever been 0 for 3. They've recovered a bit. www.wisden.com/cricket-news...

Immigrants & asylum seekers are not our enemies. They are not responsible for the austerity, privatisation, erosion of civic life, thinning of democracy and concentration of power we suffer. But they're being punished for these things. Punished at the behest of the very people who *are* responsible.
An icon of the British Pop Art Movement. David Hockney RIP
