This is real GDP per capita growth since 2007. US growth is something like 1.3% per year; the UK is almost zero.

The big difference between UKpol and USpol is that the British economy has genuinely been terrible for at least a decade, and there is no need to discover a vibecession.
We can no longer really be sure that rapid expansion would make the voters happy, but they haven't managed it.
