As for what this means for #Java, the loss of our former colleagues' expertise and drive will surely be felt. But at the same time, the vast majority remain and I'm confident that they will push forward. I wouldn't be surprised if morale took a hit, but am positive that it will be temporary. 3/4

What happened yesterday at Oracle is a disgrace. None of these people deserved to get fired and even less so in the soulless way it was done. I'm sure nobody in Java's leadership wanted this to happen and that they fought tooth and nail to minimize the impact. And yet, here we are... 1/4
