Pacifica began demolition Tuesday of a beloved cafe on a city pier that is crumbling into the sea. The demolition of the cafe, which engineers deemed necessary “to prevent it from falling into the ocean,” raises concerns about the future of the pier itself.

I was at the beach in Pacifica this evening and the mix of wind swell and ground swell made for some of the roughest ocean conditions I’ve observed in summer.
It’s going to get hot tomorrow, but the beach is cold and turbulent! A beach hazards statement is in effect for a long-period swell originating from the southern hemisphere. These waves have a LOT of energy with them. Exercise extreme caution at the beach.
Getting absolutely battered by a mix of wind swell and ground swell (southern hemi)
Had to see this for myself and yeah it’s not any better in person
