In Maine, students, families, and workers are taking the brunt of damage from the lack of public funding for higher education. Wages don't keep pace with the cost of living and workers are asked to do more with less while students pay more. Does that sound familiar?
Tomorrow, May 14, UC workers with AFSCME 3299 are going on strike for better wages, housing assistance, affordable healthcare, and job security. At HELU, we stand in solidarity with @afscme3299.bsky.social as they demand what they deserve. See you on the picket line!
It's May Day! Workers from the Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) are out on the line with Unite HERE Local 17 workers at the Normandy Inn in Minneapolis, out on ULP strike because the boss won't come to the table. It's the same thing everywhere & we've got to fight back together! Solidarity forever!
