We first curated a pedigree database of 12,041 potato varieties 📚 and identified the Major Contributing Ancestors (MCAs) of 1,209 European varieties. Top contributors: Katahdin 🇺🇸, Saskia 🇳🇱, and Agria 🇩🇪, present in the ancestry of the majority of modern European potato!
