Who better to speak out on matters of national security than someone whose close colleague is currently in prison for taking bribes from Russia?
Should X be banned?
Yes. And it should have happened in January when non-consensual sexual imagery proliferated on the site.
The government’s inaction on what is becoming increasingly a vehicle for violence and hate is appalling.
Much more needs to be done. And quickly.
Replies disabled though, Carol?
Why have you put quotation marks round ‘principled’? Is it cos you doubt their principles, or cos you think there is a greater, higher order principle than those brought to bear by some?
I don’t aim to defend that *particular* minister. It’s just the principle.
Half marks only for this, DHL. The apostrophe is there and it’s in the right place, but that’s an opening single quotation mark, not an apostrophe.
Thanks for using electrical vehicles, though. That’s the main thing!
The Tories and Reform have promised to bring a US-style Immigration and Customs Enforcement to Britain; here’s how you can start resisting | Dean Conway
Chris Grey in his latest, evidence-grounded commentary on Brexit and Brexitism:
“The most charitable reading of Labour’s approach to immigration is that it is a tactic to de-fang the far right: if so, it is abundantly clear that it has failed.”
It's pretty disgraceful that there has been absolutely no mention of this from the Prime Minister.
It's increasingly clear that some attacks, correctly, warrant disgust, emergency measures and days of media coverage.
Others seem to be met with silence.
Labour is now undeniably, and deliberately, stoking division, hate and racial tensions. Absolutely any attacks can be laid at this government's door at this point. They have decided to incite the far right instead of combatting it, and there is no defence for that in any realm of reality.
So glad that Luqman Saeed - an academic at Ulster University - has written this piece about the Belfast riots. I hope I could write this clearly and perceptively were I under similar pressure right now.

Why governments should no longer be willing to ignore a platform architected for harm.
