Two weeks today, I'll be at the London Book Fair. See you there? #LBF26
This is very exciting news.
A very positive day today delivering creative translation workshops to Year 5 students, who engaged brilliantly to translate Catalan poetry into English, using a range of cross-curricular skills.
My current translation is a rhyming children's story, which is nice in this season of festive gatherings because it's very easy for non-linguists to grasp why a machine couldn't do that.

Sometimes being a translator means resisting the urge to be an editor...or does it?
Translating a book with a rhyme on *almost* every line.
Me: ...but what if it was *every* line?
Great feedback from students who can be very proud of their work! @stephenspender.bsky.social
It is always worth listening to Kalaf Epalanga, but I particularly love the way he talks about translation here.
