And this has prevented them from telling a coherent national story about what change is needed, and how it can be delivered.

Progressive politicians must lead with a confident vision of the country's future and make a values-driven case for it.
They need to set out a vision of the nation they want to create, and how they intend to drive the meaningful change that people and places need most.
