Carney: If you look at the speech, I've never advocated that all of a sudden there was going to be a band of middle powers, you know, the M20 or something like that.
Carney: Within the last year, trade between Canada and France has gone up by 10%.
Carney: In Yerevan, I said that I believe that the next world order will likely be built out of Europe, and Canada will be part of that effort ... Working together, Canada, France and Europe are poised to be a powerful force for good in the century ahead.
Carney: I believe that President Macron's style, which is direct, it's concrete and it's ambitious, is well suited to making progress with all G7 partners very much including President Trump.
Carney: Canada and France are two of the four countries on the planet that have a LLM. We need to quickly strengthen partnerships between our countries. We are determined to act thus in order to bolster our economic sovereignty in a world that is being dominated by hegemonic powers and hyperscalers.
Carney: There'll be some issues where there are strongly held views by one of the G7 partners that are more extreme than others. And I'm not saying just one, I mean, each of us may have examples of that.
Carney: The G7 is not running the world, it's important but it's not running the world.

Carney: And to deepen our defence and industrial cooperation today, the President and I are advancing a new General Security of Information Agreement. What this means is an ability to exchange classified information between our defence, our space, our AI, and aerospace sectors.
