A Trinity College boat named 'Black Prince' won the Grand Challenge Cup at the first Henley Regatta in 1839. The College's First and Third Boat Club has continued the tradition of using the name for their top men's eights ever since. Picture from my book 'Cambridge - Light & Shade'.
