The UN has voted 141-8 to support a landmark ruling to back a court decision that found states have a legal responsibility to address climate change.
The US opposed the resolution, along with Saudi Arabia, Russia, Israel, Iran, Yemen, Liberia and Belarus.
Some 141 UN member states voted in support of the ICJ's finding climate change is an 'existential threat'.
