Not surprising but still heartbreaking to hear israel attacked Mona Khalil, one of Lebanon and the Middle East’s leading conservationists. She’s dedicated over 25 years to protecting endangered sea turtles. Hopefully she recovers soon so she may continue her work.
Books like this played a big role in getting me into palaeo, so it’s surreal to see my name in the acknowledgments! Huge motivation boost
Another brilliant read from the science writing legend @stevebrusatte.bsky.social. Both inspiring and gripping, I devoured this in a weekend. I can’t recommend it enough! When the weather is finally nicer, I think I’ll go bird watching
Last week was a blast at Uppsala. I gave a seminar talk, chatted to so many brilliant palaeos, and enjoyed the Swedish Valborg festival that welcomes Spring. One of the highlights of the PhD journey. Huge thanks to @perahlberg.bsky.social @captain-colosteid.bsky.social and others not on bluesky

Excited that my paper on a Jurassic fish with teeth on its nose is now out! Shoutout to my co-authors Ben Kligman and Maranda Stricklin, who is another all-star undergraduate mentee. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10....
New paper!!!! In which @skyemcdavid.com and I reassess a broken pterosaur humerus from the early Cretaceous Tunbridge Wells Sand, formerly known as "Palaeornis" cliftii

New #DAWNDINOS paper! Another "here's everything relevant about a cool Triassic/early Jurassic archosauriform's locomotion that we can figure out so far, with a 3D model of it"-- this time focused on the big nasty "rauisuchian" Postosuchus. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
A three-dimensional model is used to analyze the locomotor biomechanics of the large Late Triassic archosaurian reptile Postosuchus kirkpatricki. The study finds that it is more uncertain than previo...
