I learned a lot from going to Saturday's match and talking to people about their transpo experience.
Here are my tips about where to go, what to expect of each mode and what's different from Saturday.
A/O 9:15 AM, NJ Transit sold more than 20k tkts for 6/16 World Cup-goers.
My sense is they will get near 26k (purely a guess), picking up most people who opted for HC shuttles. But still far short of 40k cap.
That means a lot of people still resorting to rideshare/driving.
NJ Transit commuters have been through a lot already this year — and now the first World Cup weekday match is upon us.
Here is a guide to navigate New York Penn Station and Secaucus Junction station closures, bus changes, etc.

At 8:30 PM, host committee shuttle lines were as far as the eye could see, some braved reversing in the crowd to find another option. The line was so far back no one could tell if they were in the right line for the right route.
At the 73-minute mark, Knicks fans were rushing out, a worker advised “prayers” and “Knicks in five” and to burn sage.

AD parking estimate: 9,400 people
Interesting to see a similar surge of day-of transportation purchases, similar to Super Bowl 2014 when 21,500 people bought tickets Sunday morning.
