According to SteamDB, recent Sonic titles ranging from Sonic Frontiers to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds have had a new "2026 Trailer" added to their Steam page
This is most likely to prepare these games for Steam's annual summer sale event, which is said to begin on June 25th
In a recent interview with Takashi Iizuka, he hints at the game potentially receiving another year of DLC and support if more people continue to purchase and play the game during Year 2!

While there won’t be any new DLC characters for this month, there will be a 35th Anniversary event planned for Sonic’s birthday, as well as a “Special Surprise” event for the 29th!
The SEGA Japan Twitter account has announced that public voting for the Japan Game Awards are now live, where you can vote for many nominated games, which includes Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds!
The voting session ends on July 17th
