The LDS leadership is *very* historically aware and knows that being represented in the public image by Harry Reid and Mitt Romney is much more sustainable than by Lee.
This certainly wont be what makes Utah go blue, but the idea that Mormons can't abandon the GOP is simply not true. I live in the Mormonist county in Mormon country and its the county that is shifting left faster than any other county in the US.

I’ve seen multiple people say that Utah will go blue because of this and it won’t.
They already have a narrative in place for this and this is going to be a piece of that same old story.
