We aren't lucky enough to have a Nordic model over here where the government invests directly in the arts, so we gotta make do with what we can.
I'd much prefer we had some of that support but if we are proud of our work then "profitability" is far less meaningful.
We're all just trying our best to make a product that we love and that we hope will resonate with the market here. There's no room for bad blood when we all want the same thing.
I genuinely wonder how many OG Homeworld fans ended up proudly queer.
It's a small thing but one of my greatest joys as a small (micro, really) business owner is in trying my best to treat contractors like human beings first and then paying out and telling them they did an awesome job.
