We lived in Beijing during my Junior Goth phase - we rode by day & night, I wore all black all the time, I don't think I saw a bicycle light the whole time I was there, and I never saw a serious bike crash (one in which anyone couldn't get back on their bike or had any contact with a motor vehicle.)
Truly horrific that someone has died in that train crash. There will be an inquiry. Rightly so. Your loved ones die in an entirely preventable road smash...
