📣 Public announcement: we are closing a multiplet! 🧪⚛️
This is not a goodbye! 👋
Today the CMS shift crew celebrated the last proton collisions of LHC Run 3. The next time CMS will detect again particles from proton collisions will be in four years!

No more proton collisions at the LHC for a while! But a lot of data to analyse and various detectors to be upgraded in the coming busy years
📣 Komt dat zien komt dat zien 📣
Book me for your events 😜😂

Is it a problem to be "already well-established"? This year, I had my last chance to submit an application to the NWO Vici grant. Apparently, I am "already well-established" and the committee is "not fully convinced it would contribute to their further consolidation". So, third time's no charm...
On my way to Twente with the international Eurocity train connection from Brussels via Almere to Lelystad, even announced in French 😄

A new @lhcb.bsky.social VELO exhibition will be unveiled on July 9 at @nikhef.bsky.social (National Institute for Subatomic Physics). Production has already started to make this happen on short notice in collaboration with Rozemond Tentoonstellingen & LetterZ
It’s a wrap for proton–proton collisions at the #LHC💫
Here we see the event displays of the last proton collisions, recorded in May by the CERN experiments: @atlasexperiment.bsky.social @cmsexperiment.bsky.social, ALICE and @lhcb.bsky.social.
Experiments now prepare for lead-ion collisions.
