As an immigrant, I was puzzled by the NZ accent, especially the "a" being pronounced as "e". I mean, how can a country that prides itself in having a good education system, get 2 out of 5 vowels "wrong" ☺️? #nzpol
Where did New Zealand English originate, and how did we come to pronounce our vowels in such a unique way?
