Ballplayer in a position of striking the ball with the hip, kneeling on the left knee and the right slightly extended, and raised, and the left bent over the protector. The piece belongs to the Mayan culture; it was found in Jaina, Campeche. It dates from the Late Classic period (600-900CE).
