The Paris Agreement is about "well below 2C" & pursuing 1.5C, it is not about avoiding 4-5C. This is somewhat lost in the RCP8.5 debate. The science said keep well below 2C, & RCP8.5 is not needed to make that case. Other scenarios were. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Global CO2 emissions have plateaued since 2013, leading to a slower growth in atmospheric CO2 than would have otherwise been the case. In a new analysis at The Climate Brink, I've taken look at what would have happened if emissions had continued to grow: www.theclimatebrink....

Valuable paper on the need for scientists to move beyond dispassionate scientific writing and tell stories if we're to persuade others of the urgency of the nature crisis Sadly it doesn't recognise that actions speak louder than words besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...

Global CO2 emissions have slowed down, therefore we expect atmospheric CO2 to be lower than if emissions continued to grow. I did a figure quite similar to @hausfath.bsky.social a while back & it is the same story (& similar numbers): www.theclimatebrink.com/p/plateauing... But, is it correct? 1/
