It does feel to me that the new icon materials are a bit of an overcorrection, some of them look like they have a sharpen filter applied because of how dark the outline is
And it's only on *one axis* - the light/dark thing they are trying to do with the new glass does not work great here
OVERWHELMED
This was my main gripe with original Liquid Glass as I used it over the past year - it could work if someone would think to include More Than One Type Of Glass, but no they didn't.
This is an improvement but feels a bit "yeah fine you wanted outlines and sharp icons HAVE THEM"
Glass is one of the most visually versatile materials there is and I feel like Apple is unwilling to let that nuance into their designs.
You'd think app icons is where you'd be able to go wild since they aren't supposed to be constantly rendering dynamic UI, but no - we'll save that for Siri I guess
