one of my biggest gripes with floss ppl, despite being something of an oss-for-moral-reasons person myself, is that most of them seem to have forgotten that one of the main points of foss is that software can be _better_ when anyone can contribute
i _love_ open source. I've spent the better part of my life making open-source software, small and large. i think all software should be open source.
but i also think that we should, u know, also make software that ppl _want_ to use
What a guy
me watching www.youtube.com/shorts/_75iz...
me: oh they're gonna come close with the end of the drill or tap
the insert holder: hahahahah brrrrrr
this has been me irl multiple times
[this is a subskeet] you're trying to convince ppl to use an oss tool instead of a proprietary one.
is the best approach:
a) put work into the ux, & then show ppl how much progress has been made since they last looked at it
b) share tips & tricks to help ppl migrate over, …
www.reddit.com/r/CodeLyoko/... holy shit
…and show off things the proprietary solution can't do
c) call ppl fascists for even thinking of using closed-source software
apparently the answer is the famously effective c!
there is a skill in cooking that is knowing the vibe of what flavors & textures fit together, & why. i believe anyone can develop this, so long as you experiment & pay attention while ur cooking & eating.
tiktokers and crunchy bloggers seem to be doing their best to dissuade me of this notion.
