rediscovering Kokusyoku Sumire and I'm enjoying their album "Anderu Meruhen Songbook"
they were another artist I was aware of when exploring off-kilter jpop back in the day but fell through the cracks for me / I didn't truly get into them
the manic pixie dream girl trope in Western film/TV gives me hives but somehow I find the manic pixie tomboy (who is basically a female frat bro at times) lead (or main love interest) in k-dramas endearing
maybe bc it's usually the combo w/ the main male lead
in Western media it's some pretentious tortured guy for whom the MPDG is a character development plot device
in k-dramas it's usually a stoic or quiet guy being a hapless accomplice to the storm of chaos unleased by the female lead lol
